His Holiness Sakya Tridzin in Moscow

From 21 to 27 May 2010, His Holiness Sakya Tridzin,  the head of Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism, will visit Moscow during his visit  to Russia. His Holiness has been invited by the High Lama of Kalmykia Telo Tulku Rinpoche.

His Holiness  is the 41st Sakya patriarch of the lineage and the head of Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, which is spread throughout the world. In 1952, at the age of six years, he was enthroned as Sakya Trizin in the preliminary ceremony.

Then, in 1959, there was ceremony of enthronement in Sakya Monastery, shortly after which His Holiness was forced to flee to India in exile. There, His Holiness founded the college for Studies of Sakya tradition in India and Nepal, recreated Sakya Monasteries and began to travel around the world, giving teachings.
