Tibet House visiting His Holiness the Dalai Lama

The meeting of the representatives of Tibet House in Moscow with His Holiness the Dalai Lama was held on March 1, 2013. The audience took place at the Dalai Lama’s private residence located in Dharamsala since 1959.

His Holiness was glad to see the guests from the Russian capital. The conversation took place in warm and relaxing atmosphere. His Holiness the Dalai Lama warmly smiled and joked energizing everyone. However, He took seriously the discussion of situation of Buddhism in Russia. His Holiness displayed a keen interest in social programs supported by Ivolginsky datsan as well as the phenomenon of Pandito Hambo Lama Itigelov who became a symbol of faith and revival of Buddhism for people.

His Holiness paid a special attention to necessity of special projects based on interaction of science and religion. He underlined that a dialogue and exchange of experience between Buddhism and science will be extremely useful for contemporary society.

His Holiness approved and gave His blessing to new educational projects of Tibet House and wished early implementation thereof. He added that such institutions are very important for Moscow.

At the conclusion of the meeting the Dalai Lama expressed his intention to visit Russia and wished the Russians success in Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.
