Moscow Tibet House Donates NPR 7 Lacs towards Relief in Nepal Earthquake

In connection with the devastating earthquake happened in April and May 2015, NGO Tibet House in Moscow organized the urgent fund-raising event for assistance to Tibetan refugees affected by the disaster. 7700 US dollars have been raised during short time thanks to the founders of Tibet House, partners and friends of Tibet.

On June, 7, Mrs. Nadya Berkengeym, Vice President of Tibet House, has passed 700,000 Nepalese rupees and urgently needed supplies in case of emergency (solar batteries and whistles) to the Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund through Mr. Tamdrin Dorje, Head of the Office of Tibet and Plenipotentiary Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Nepal.

These funds were aimed to Financial Support Program for the most vulnerable Tibetans: people living below poverty line, large families and pensioners who happened to be unable to lead a normal life due to the catastrophe.

Several times a week the Office of Tibet in Nepal runs the financial support actions to help the earthquake victim people. The Office of Tibet in Nepal grants a relief in the amount of 350 Nepalese rupees to each family member of Tibetans who live in Kathmandu districts - Swayambhunath, Jvalakel, Boudhanath, Pharping and others, giving them a possibility to have daily necessities during a week.
